Grandma’s ‘fab idea’ for packing down her Christmas tree takes the internet by storm

As the joy of the festive season draws to a close, thoughts quickly turn to the arduous task of packing down all the Christmas decorations for another year.

For those who are dreading the prospect of packing away their decorations and finding space to store them for another year, a grandmother in the UK may just have the answer to ease your woes.

The grandmother, known as Nanna Bea on TikTok, shared her “genius” hack to the social media platform where it has already amassed over 400,000 views.

In the clip, Nanna Bea stands alongside her Christmas tree with a large sheet before telling viewers, “we all know what Nanna does with her tree, every single year.”

“I am not messing about with that amount of balls,” she continued.

She then places the sheet entirely over the tree, lifts it at the base and carries it away.

“And up to the spare room she goes,” she said.

Although several viewers felt the method took the fun out of decorating the tree the following year, many were quick to praise the grandmother for her no fuss technique.

“This is so smart,” one user wrote.

“My husband’s mum used to do that.”

“What and miss out on all the stress of putting it up and taking it down… I don’t blame ya! I wish I’d done this,” another said.

“What a fab idea.”

“No messing about Nana.”

“It takes us all day taking the things of the tree and putting it away.”

“This is genius. I’d need a super king cover to cover mine like this though plus mine weighs a ton.”

Nanna Bea isn’t the only grandmother that has attained widespread internet fame recently. In 2021 an Australian grandmother went viral after demonstrating her method for folding a fitted sheet with ease.

TikTok user amymaree922 shared the video of her mother’s genius hack for perfectly folding the notoriously tricky item.

“Thanks mum for the tip on how to fold the fitted sheet!” Amy wrote.

The video shows a purple fitted sheet spread across a classic Hills Hoist clothesline as the grandmother turns each side in until it’s folded neatly on the line.

Filmed to the comically classical tunes of Kevin McLeod’s “Monkeys Spinning Monkeys”, the grandmother then cautiously slides it off the clothes line, making an effort to keep the perfectly formed shape.

She then folds the sheet over several times until she is left with an immaculate square.
