Proud mum Jamie Lee Curtis has revealed that her youngest child is transgender in an exclusive tell-all with AARP The Magazine.

In the interview, the 62-year-old actress said her 25-year-old daughter, who was previously known as Thomas, has transitioned from male to female. Curtis said that she and her husband Christopher Guest “have watched in wonder and pride as our son became our daughter Ruby”.

The True Lies actress also revealed that Ruby, who’s a computer gaming editor, is planning to get married next year, saying: “And she and her fiancé will get married next year at a wedding that I will officiate.”

Curtis and Guest are also parents to Annie, 34, who tied the knot in 2019 and works as a dance instructor. And while Curtis doesn’t currently have any grandchildren, she told the American publication that her and her husband “do hope to” in the near future.

Despite being married for nearly 37 years, the Hollywood couple are happier than ever, with the actress saying he is her “one and only”. Curtis and Guest tied the knot in December 1989.

“That’s the long marriage,” she said. “It’s the safety of knowing his car is in the garage, that I’m not alone, and that he’s here.”

In March, Curtis opened up about the first time she saw her husband, telling NBC’s Today at the time: “I met my husband by seeing his picture in a magazine and saying out loud to a friend of mine, ‘I’m going to marry that dude’. And I married him four months later!”

Meanwhile, in the same interview with AARP The Magazine, the actress, who turns 63 in November this year, commented on her career saying she has no plans to slow down anytime soon. “I wake up every day at 4 am and have so much on my mind,” Curtis revealed. “I’m just so crazy excited and creative right now. And I don’t want to squander any of it.”

She continued: “Get out the tape measure,” she said. “Look at what age your parents died, look at what age you are. It’s not long. Laugh about it a little. And then shut up and do something! So that’s where I’m at in my life right now.”
