Sophie Wessex shows off natural beauty in lovely, powder-blue outfit

Sophie Wessex was the picture of ladylike elegance during her visit to The Royal Military Academy on Friday, sporting a powder-blue trench coat while out on royal duties.

The mother-of-two looked incredible in the loose-fitting coat matched with a patterned dress in the same colour as she represented Queen Elizabeth at The Sovereign’s Parade.

She wore black suede boots for the outing and accessorised with a pair of leather gloves and a black pillbox hat.

“Today 242 Officer Cadets passed out, after completing 44 weeks of training. The Countess inspected the Parade before meeting service personnel,” the royal family wrote on Instagram.

“The countess presented officers with medals including Long Service and Good Conduct Medals and the Sword of Honour.”

Speaking at the event, she said: “This is the second time I have had the enormous honour and privilege of representing Her Majesty The Queen at this Her Sovereign’s Parade, and may I begin by commending you all, especially those British and overseas cadets who will be passing out today after a busy and tough year of training and education to prepare you to be the officers you are about to become.”

She added: “So for those of you who are passing out today, my heartfelt congratulations. It is at this point when everything you have been taught here at Sandhurst will start to make sense, and in a short time you will all join your new posts, when, from the moment you walk in the door, your new life really begins.”

It comes after a source claimed the Queen shares a particularly special bond with the wife of her son Prince Edward. According to The Sun, the monarch often asks Sophie to ride with her to church, as they both share a common interest in religion, while she can be a calming presence for her.

“The Queen likes to be completely calm before church and she finds Sophie’s presence soothing,” the source claimed to the news outlet. An insider added: “She is trusted and relied on by the Queen in a way I couldn’t say applied to the Duchess of Cambridge or the Duchess of Cornwall. She is like another daughter to Her Majesty, they are that close.”

Sophie is often complimented on her work ethic and many people commented on it once again this time round. One person wrote on Instagram: “Such a lovely lady. She seems to work really hard and be so in touch with people,” while another added: “This woman is so humble and hardworking.”
