She’s known for her impeccable sense of style and Julie Bishop pulled out all the stops earlier this week as she made a stunning appearance at an event, donning a gorgeous black mini dress for the occasion. Fashion is a fickle game and history has taught us it’s only a matter of time before what’s old is new again. That appears to be the case for one of the most iconic looks from the 1960s – mini dresses – and we’ve got Julie to thank for its comeback.

The former minister for foreign affairs struck a pose in the stunning shift dress which featured a striking zip-front design – a style which was hugely popular in the ’60s – and hung just above her knees, revealing her toned legs and a pair of classy black stiletto heels. Looking as stylish as ever, Julie smiled broadly for the cameras at the event on Tuesday evening.

The 63-year-old was a stand out at the event, pairing the fitted dress with a pair of stunning silver, dangly earrings. Meanwhile, Julie also made a statement with her cropped hair do.

Meanwhile, Julie’s glamorous appearance comes a week after she stepped out to attend the Omega 50th anniversary of Apollo 11alongside her partner David Panton last Wednesday evening. With a huge smile on her face the 63-year-old turned up the heat in a sexy yet classy, black number which hug tightly to her body to show off her figure – showing every Baby Boomer that it’s not just the Millennials that can dress to the nines

Julie opted for a pair of simple black heels for the occasion and accessorised with a pair of silver and pearl dangly earrings to match the bold silver pattern spread across the dress. Meanwhile, she chose a black handbag to keep her belongings handy during the event and added a pop of colour with some pink nail polish.
