Mugs are not just for cups of tea or coffee anymore – you can now create small, one-person meals (or tasty snacks) any time of the day, using only a mug and a microwave.
French toast
Ingredients
- 1.5 slices of bread
- 1 egg
- 3 tablespoons of milk
- a small amount of butter
- cinnamon
- vanilla extract (to taste)
- Maple syrup to serve
Method
- Cut the bread into small cubes
- Line the cup with a small amount of butter
- Crack the egg into the mug
- Add the cinnamon, milk and vanilla extract (if you have a sweet tooth) and blend together with a fork
- Add the bread to the mug and smoosh it a bit so that the bread soaks up some of the mixtures
- Put your creation in the microwave to cook. Start with 1 minute, then go up in 10-second increments until your French toast is cooked just the way you like.
- Add the maple syrup to serve
Banana bread
Ingredients
- Non-stick cooking spray
- 3 tablespoons of flour
- 1.5 tablespoons of sugar
- 1 teaspoon of brown sugar
- 1/8 teaspoon of salt
- 1/8 teaspoon of baking powder
- 1/8 teaspoon of baking soda
- 1 egg
- 1/4 teas vanilla extract
- 1 tbsp vegetable oil
- 1 tbsp milk
- 1 ripe banana, mashed
