Brooke Shields goes from thongs to best dressed list

Brooke Shields has always been known for her classic beauty. The actress and model, known for ‘those eyebrows’ is not new to the fashion world, but it seems she is still very much a part of it.

The 52-year-old was named as one of the best dressed at the CFDA Fashion Awards earlier this week. The awards are the highest honour in fashion and recognise the outstanding contributions made to American fashion.

Wearing a stunning floor length floral number by designers Sachin and Babi Ahluwalia, with simply styled hair and minimal jewellery, the former child star revealed later it was more like a coat than a dress, and she had a pair of long black satin pants on underneath.

But the glamorous actress has shown she clearly has a down-to-earth side too.

A mother of two, Brooke got very personal when she wrote a memoir about her battle with postpartum depression.

More recently she showed she was just as happy to dress down for comfort, sporting a pair of thongs as she walked through Manhattan, holding a lovely pair of red heels in her hand. She still looks great even wearing a pair of double-pluggers.
