As we try to distract ourselves from another political campaign, there’s another poll that has just been released regarding another popularity contest: our favourite and least favourite Aussie celebrities.
The annual Encore Score list has been revealed and the number one spot should be no surprise! That’s right, it’s Hugh Jackman.
Other celebrities we love include English chef Jamie Oliver, Chris Hemsworth, Cate Blanchett and Russell Crowe.
On the not-so-hot list at number one was shock jock Kyle Sandilands, followed by Shane Warne, Eddie McGuire, Pete Evans and Kyle’s co-host Jackie O.
News Corp reports the Encore Score is the go-to standard for ranking the popularity of and the public opinion of more than 400 celebrities within Australia.
More than 5000 respondents were not shown pictures of the celebrities, only names, and for the first time politicians were not included on the list.
Interestingly, 2015’s top 10 was all Australians, but this year two British celebrities with a strong presence in Australia have made it in the final cut.
Survey respondents were asked:
“The Encore Score presents the definitive ranking of Australia’s favourite celebrities, and is a shining index of who’s hot and who’s not, allowing brands, marketers and agencies a popularity benchmark,” curator of the Encore Score, Brooke Hemphill, said.
