Happy birthday, Catherine! The very pregnant duchess has just turned 36

She is having a quiet celebration with her family this year.

After celebrating the milestone of sending Princess Charlotte to nursery school for the first time, the Duchess of Cambridge celebrated her 36th birthday in low-key style at home.

British newspapers reported that Catherine planned to spend the day in private with her family. She’s heavily pregnant with her third child, due in April, so it’s no wonder she’d prefer spend a relaxing day out of the public eye.

According to the Daily Mail, the Duchess of Cambridge was marking her big day with a close “party of eight” before she resumes royal duties.

As well as Prince Charles and Camilla posting their best birthday wishes from their Instagram account, run by their household Clarence House, the royal family officially wished the duchess a happy 36th, celebrating her commitment to children’s mental health issues and other charitable endeavours.

This year has already been very busy for the family, even as preparations to welcome a new royal into the family begin.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have just made their second public appearance since announcing their engagement. They were cheered on warmly by the public at a public radio station in London, with the crowd going mad for a glimpse of Harry’s wife-to-be.

Thier wedding is set to take place in spring on May 19, 2018. The couple announced their engagement in November after 18 months of dating, and revealed that St George’s Chapel, at Windsor Castle, was the venue choice for their ceremony.

The Sunday Times reports that Catherine’s children, Prince George and Princess Charlotte, will be pageboy and flower girl when they follow Meghan Markle down the aisle this year.

A Kensington Palace spokesperson has said the wedding would be a family event and the public can expect many members of the royal family to be involved. Many news sources speculate that Prince William will likely fill in the role of best man.

The wedding may also mark the appearance of the Duchess of Cambridge’s new royal baby, which no doubt will inherit the adorable looks of Charlotte and George.

The little princess looked happy in the official snap posted to mark her first day of nursery school at Willcocks Nursery School. Many quickly took to social media to observe the likeness of the young princess to her great-grandmother, Queen Elizabeth.

The photos were taken by the Duchess of Cambridge, on the steps of Kensington Palace and feature the two-year-old princess giving a cheeky grin on the steps.

“The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are very pleased to share two photographs of Princess Charlotte at Kensington Palace this morning,” the Palace said. “The images were taken by The Duchess shortly before Princess Charlotte left for her first day of nursery at the Willcocks Nursery School.”

Willcocks Nursery School is known to be a prestigious institution that focuses on creativity and manners.
