Pippa Middleton, the sister of the Duchess of Cambridge, have given birth to a healthy baby boy. The baby is the first child for Pippa and husband James Matthews, who married in 2017.

According to Sky News, the little boy arrived on Monday afternoon at 13:58 BST and weighed 8lb 90z. A spokesperson for the family confirmed the exciting news and safe arrival of the baby.

Pippa reportedly gave birth at St Mary’s hospital in London. This is the same hospital where the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge welcomed their children.

“James and Pippa have had a baby boy,” the spokesperson confirmed to the publication. “Everyone is delighted and mother and baby are doing well.”

Kensington Palace also released a statement from Prince William and Catherine.

“The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are thrilled for Pippa and James,” the statement read.

The baby, who is yet to be named, will be the cousin of five-year-old Prince George, three-year-old Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis, who was born five months ago.

Just last week, both Pippa and James attended the wedding of Princess Eugenie of York and Jack Brooksbank at St George’s Chapel in Windsor Castle. During the wedding, Pippa showed off her growing baby bump in a green frock. It was thought to be her last public appearance before giving birth.

Pippa, 35, originally confirmed she was expecting her first child in a magazine column for British supermarket Waitrose in June. In the article, the socialite said she hadn’t experienced morning sickness like her sister. Pippa, the younger sibling of Catherine, became a household name after appearing in Catherine’s bridal party in 2011.

As exciting as the news is, the arrival of Pippa and James’ son isn’t the only wonderful baby news surrounding the royal family. On Monday, Kensington Palace confirmed Prince Harry and Meghan, Duchess of Sussex were expecting their first child.

“Their Royal Highnesses have appreciated all of the support they have received from people around the world since their wedding in May and are delighted to be able to share this happy news with the public,” a statement from the Palace said.
