Meghan Markle shocked fans this week by making a surprise appearance on the popular reality TV show America’s Got Talent to voice her support for one of the contestants, who coincidentally shares the same name as her one-year-old son Archie.

The former royal recorded the supportive message where she gushed over contestant Archie Williams – who was wrongly-incarcerated for over 37 years until his release just last year. Meghan, 39, was clearly moved by Williams’ story as she said she and her husband Prince Harry had been cheering him on since the beginning.

“Hi Archie! I just wanted to let you know that we have been so moved by your story, and we have been cheering you on every week … and it’s not just because we’re partial to the name,” she quipped in the video.

“Here’s a very special message to you, that I’ll probably be saying all of my life, but on this night it’s specifically for you. Archie, we are proud of you and are rooting for you, we can’t wait to see what you do. We’re in your corner, have a good night.”

The former actress shot the video from her home while relaxing on the couch in a beige button-up shirt and tight leather black pants. It also provided a rare look into Harry and Meghan’s stunning home located in Santa Barbara that they moved into in mid-March.

After relinquishing their royal titles earlier this year, the couple stayed in Canada for a short while before settling down in the nine-bedroom Californian mansion. The house reportedly cost them USD$14 million and is now said to be their permanent home, according to People.

The surprise appearance comes after the couple released a statement regarding the US election. Although the royal family is renowned for removing themselves from state politics, the couple urged Americans to vote in what Meghan called “the most important election of our lifetime”.

And even though neither the Duke or Duchess of Sussex outwardly lobbied for either party, Prince Harry urged voters to reject “hate speech, misinformation and online negativity” while mentioning as a Brit, he’s not able to vote and has never been able to vote even in his home country due to his royal title.

The controversial comments caught the eye of President Donald Trump who recently spoke on the topic saying of Meghan Markle: “I’m not a big fan of hers. I would say this, I wish a lot of luck to Harry. He’s going to need it’.”
