Georgie Gardner is known for her bubbly on-screen persona on the Today show, starring alongside co-host Karl Stefanovic, but the star has been secretly battling her own health concerns off camera.

The 46-year-old has now sent a powerful warning to her fans, after revealing for the third time that she’s had a terrifying skin cancer scare – and has had to have two more cancers removed from her face.

While she confirmed they were thankfully not melanomas, the TV star – clearly shaken by the ordeal – urged her Instagram followers to take care of themselves in the Australian sun and book regular skin checks.

“Feeling a little flat after 2 more skin cancers removed, BUT counting my blessings they’re NOT melanomas. Can’t overstate enough to get your skin checked & slap on the sunscreen!! #besunsmartpeople,” she wrote, while sharing a photo of her taped up scar along her hairline.

This is the third cancer scare for Georgie, and she previously took to social media to warn fans of the importance of checking their skin. Just last year, the newsreader shared a photo of herself on Instagram with a big white bandage on her back after having a skin cancer cut out.

“Another skin cancer cut out & a call out to get your skin checked people!!” she wrote on the post.

Meanwhile in 2015 she shocked fans when she revealed she’d had another cancer removed from her face, after posting a photo with bandages around her mouth.

Georgie’s message comes just days after actress Melanie Griffith revealed she’s undergone the final stage of her treatment for skin cancer in a moving message to her fans on social media.

The 61-year-old shared a close up photo of her face with the top of her nose completely bandaged up, revealing she had just had dermabrasion to fix her nose following her previous surgery.

“If any of you have it, get it fixed. If you lay in the sun, are exposed to lots of sun, be CAREFUL,” she wrote. “Use sun screen. Get checked out by your dermatologist. If you don’t have one, get one, or go to your nearest clinic and ask to be tested for it. More info to come!”

The star first had the skin cancer removed last year, before undergoing several procedures to fix her nose and the mark left there.

Her message followed similar ones from actor Hugh Jackman, 49, who has heavily campaigned for more awareness of the dangers of the sun, having battled skin cancer scares himself in the past.

The actor was first diagnosed in 2013, and it was previously reported he had had cancers removed from his nose and shoulder.
