Parents across the world are no doubt struggling to keep their kids engaged and entertained as they attempt to homeschool them amid the ongoing coronavirus crisis, and it seems that members of the British royal family are not exempt from those struggles.

The Duchess of Cambridge spoke candidly about some of the difficulties of homeschooling as she appeared on UK breakfast program This Morning on Thursday. Speaking to presenters Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby, Catherine opened up about what it’s been like to conduct lessons for Prince George and Princess Charlotte at home.

And the mother-of-three, who also has to keep two-year-old Prince Louis entertained whilst the family isolate at their Norfolk home Anmer Hall, revealed the very cute reason that the six-year-old prince is envious of his younger sister.

“We’re stuck into homeschooling again,” Catherine said. “They’re unprecedented times really.”

She added: “George gets very upset because he just wants to do all of Charlotte’s projects. Spider sandwiches are far cooler than doing literacy work!”

George and Charlotte, five, usually attend private school Thomas’s Battersea, in London, however the youngsters are currently unable to attend usual classes due to the UK’s strict lockdown measures. The princess joined the school in September last year.

During the televised interview Catherine also revealed how the family are coping during the lockdown, adding: “Fine thank you, it’s extraordinary. I am sure you’re experiencing the same yourselves, and your families.” The duchess also checked in on how the presenters were doing, and how their families were coping.

Viewers were quick to compliment Kate for the down-to-earth interview, with one writing: “We’re fine thank you for asking. How are you? How are both your families?” That sums her up for me. A caring compassionate and elegant woman, our future Queen Consort, she’ll do an amazing job.”

Another commented: “Loved this interview she seems a really nice down to earth approachable person, no delusions of grandeur and beautiful to boot.”

While another viewer wrote on Facebook: “Made me smile all the way through.. She is a wonderful mother and lovely lady. She has a natural eye for photography concentrating on the beauty and meaning of the picture rather than its technical brilliance. But I honestly thought one of the children or William would come through the door at any moment.. Forgetting she was on live tv.”

The Duchess of Cambridge also discussed the recent photographs she released for Prince Louis’ second birthday, revealing that both she and the young prince were left covered in brightly-coloured paint after the shoot.

“I should’ve taken a photograph of what I looked like after as well!” Kate laughed. “Luckily, that wasn’t documented but I was pretty much, I looked like Louis at the end of those.”
