Bert and Patti Newton share sweet moments with the grandkids in adorable snaps

They’re two of Australia’s most loved entertainers and Bert and Patti Newton have shown once again that they take their roles at grandparents very seriously.

On Friday evening, Patti shared a sweet photo of her husband giving their granddaughter Lola a big kiss and a cuddle. These special moments are arguably some of the best parts about being a grandparent. It was a big day for little Lola, who celebrated her seventh birthday with a superhero party.

In the snap, the birthday girl was dressed as comic book hero Wonder Woman, while Bert opted for a smart pink shirt and a pair of trousers.

“Wonder Women [sic] had her 7th Birthday party today,” Patti captioned the photo on Instagram. “All her Super Hero’s [sic] had a great time. Hope we’re around for her 17th !!!! Lola is just Sunshine.”

Meanwhile, the couple’s daughter Lauren shared another snap of Bert with Lola, along with his other grandchildren Eva, nine, three-year-old Monty and baby Perla Dolly. Their oldest grandson Sam was not pictured.

Eva was dressed as Gwen Stacy from Spider-man, while little Monty opted to be Superman for his sister’s big day.

“Lola is almost 7,” Lauren captioned the photo. “Where did my baby go?? Superhero party done.”

Fans were quick to praise Bert’s loving moments with his grandchildren.

One person on Instagram wrote: “Gorgeous photo of Bert with Lola, hope she had a fantastic day.”

Another comment read: “Superpoppy with sweet Superwoman. Happy 7th Birthday Lola. Hope you had a super birthday party.”

A third fan added: “Happy birthday sweet Lola, such a lovely super hero cuddle from Papa/ Bert .. l hope you are around too for her 17th .. l think about those moments to [sic], and it’s ok because they are our lives XX.”

It’s not the first superhero party for the Newton clan. Earlier this year, Bert impressed his family and fans alike when he dressed up as The Incredible Hulk for Monty’s third birthday.

Sporting a full green costume, complete with massive Hulk gloves and a scary mask, Bert went all out for the occasion last month.

His wife Patti took to social media in February to share photos from the day, including one of Bert posing in the Hulk’s angry stance and others with the excited three-year-old.

“Monty had a special guest today at his 3rd birthday, the Hulk!” she wrote on Instagram alongside the collection of memorable snaps.

The Hulk did not make an appearance at the most recent party. Meanwhile, Patti has also proven that being a grandma is her most important role. In a snap shared earlier this month, the 74-year-old could be seen having a cuddle with little Perla Dolly.

The star beamed with delight as she held the baby, while Lola was also spotted sharing the sweet moment with her nana.

Perla arrived in January and is the daughter of Bert and Patti’s daughter Laura and son-in-law Matt Welsh. She is their fifth grandchild.
