Harry shows he’s not so posh as he wings his way to Sydney

It’s probably the world’s best spot for a stopover, so who could blame Prince Harry for dropping in to Singapore on his way to Australia.

The young royal is headed for Sydney, where he’s due to celebrate the city’s hosting of the 2018 Invictus Games, the sports competition for sick, wounded and injured military service-people and veterans that he founded three years ago.

The Sydney launch is on Wednesday, and meanwhile, Prince Harry is spending a few days in Singapore, where he will play a charity polo match to raise money for another charity close to his heart, Senteable, which raises money for children in Africa living with HIV and AIDS or the effects of the disease.

On Sunday the prince visited Jamiya Singapore as about 80 young Muslim locals broke their Ramadan fast as sunset. Sitting at a table and chatting happily with guests, Prince Harry displayed his usual natural charm, comfortably forgoing silver service to try some of the local delicacies with his hands.

He’d received a traditional Malay welcome, involving hand drummers, and watched a demonstration of the martial art called silat.

Singapore’s Changi Airport has repeatedly been voted the world’s best, and the small city-state’s sparkling architecture, spotless greenery and excellent public transport make both places a favourite for travellers who have a few hours, or days, between flights.

Are you looking forward to seeing Prince Harry appear in Sydney?
