Karl Stefanovic’s divorce settlement revealed

Six months after the announcement of their split, Karl Stefanovic and Cassandra Thorburn’s divorce settlement has been revealed. 

The Daily Telegraph reported that the Today star has settled his divorce, taking away a mere $500,000 in cash and assets, and leaving Thorburn with about $6 million in cash and assets, and with hefty child support payments going forward. 

Stefanovic’s friends have described the settlement as “tough”.

According to the report, Stefanovic, who earns $3m a year, put up little resistance during the settlement proceedings which were finalised as he was photographed on holiday in the US with his new girlfriend, 33-year-old designer Jasmine Yarbrough.

Thorburn now lives in the couple’s $8m waterfront mansion in Cremorne, which is reported to be “significantly mortgaged”.

A friend of the Today presenter told The Daily Telegraph that the children were Stefanovic’s main priority. 

“There was always the sense that it would be a big settlement and obviously not in his favour.

“He was quite prepared to walk away with nothing, hand everything over with the one condition that he be able to see his children whenever he wanted.”

Last year, Karl and his ex-wife Cassandra announced they were splitting after 21 years of marriage, with Cassandra taking to social media to air her frustrations about the pressure his job had placed on their relationship.
