Brave Queen refuses to let terror stop her ‘carrying on’

Her Majesty stepped out for an important day.

The Queen has defied the increased terror threat in Britain, stepping out with her husband Prince Philip to attend a church service at St. Paul’s Cathedral in London.

The special service marked the 100th anniversary of the Order of the British Empire and paid tribute to the UK’s unsung heroes.

Her Majesty was resplendent in green for the day, sporting a vibrant green hat and coat with a blue flower-print dress underneath.

Following Monday’s terror attack in Manchester, it appears the Palace has tightened security with a wall of police officers surrounding the church throughout the service.

It’s not the first time the royal family has boosted armed protection for the Queen, with her security detail bolstered during her 2011 visit to Ireland over fears of an IRA attack.

Britain raised the terror threat level to critical on Wednesday, indicating further attacks were imminent.

Military have been deployed to patrol the streets alongside police, with British prime minister Theresa May saying: “It is a possibility we cannot ignore that there is a wider group of
individuals linked to this attack.”

However, the Queen has never been one to let fear get in the way of service and displayed that classic British stiff upper lip on her day out.

On Tuesday, she released a statement praising the public for how they reacted to the horrific attack that killed 22 and left 59 injured.

“The whole nation has been shocked by the death and injury in Manchester last night of so many people, adults and children, who had just been enjoying a concert,” she said.

“I know I speak for everyone in expressing my deepest sympathy to all who have been affected by this dreadful event and especially to the families and friends of those who have died or were injured.”

“I want to thank all the members of the emergency services, who have responded with such professionalism and care. And I would like to express my admiration for the way the people of Manchester have responded, with humanity and compassion, to this act of barbarity.”

Are you glad to see the Queen setting an example like this? Are you a fan of the royal family?
