The strangest items people have attempted to sneak through airport security… and failed!

Every day passengers make their way through airport security, and some even try and sneak items through the gates that are clearly not allowed on a flight. The Transport Security Administration in the United States have created an Instagram account showing off all the items they’ve confiscated from the public. Here are some of the most ridiculous, baffling and downright stupid things that people have attempted to get through airport security, and failed!

1. Post-apocalyptic bullet-adorned gas marks are definitely not allowed through security:

2. They might be pretty in pink, but knives of any kind are prohibited in carry-on bags:

3. Whether you’re a ninja or not, nunchucks are definitely not allowed in your carry-on luggage:

4. No matter how you hide your knife, they’re definitely a no-no on flights:

5. Belts are usually fashionable, but not in this case. Belts of ammo cannot be brought on a plane:

6. Eels might be delicious, or a perfectly fine family pet, but there’s no place for them in your check-in luggage:

7. Swiss army knives are handy, and so are smartphones, but if you combine the two, it’s definitely not going to be allowed on your flight:

8. An Eiffel Tower sculpture might be a nice ornament to have around the house, but using it to hide a secret dagger, not so nice:

9. There is nothing wrong with bringing your favourite shade of lippy onto the plane, but if it’s a shade is a knife, it’s definitely not getting through security:

10. A comb is absolutely acceptable, but a comb knife… not so much!
