Paris’s Gare du Nord evacuated amid safety concerns

Jun 05, 2017

Passengers were evacuated from Paris’s Gare du Nord station after a World War II bomb was found on-board a Eurostar train heading to London.

The check-in area at the transport hub was evacuated as a precaution and the scare caused at least two trains to be delayed while authorities investigated the scene.

Those travelling from Paris to London on the 8:13am service did not get away until after 8:30am, while the 9:13am Eurostar train was delayed by 30 minutes (local times).

It appears a passenger had brought the World War II shell on-board.

While services have resumed at Gare du Nord, passengers can expect some delays from Paris to London as a result of the scare.
