1. Wear comfortable clothes

If you’re not going out to a fancy dinner then why not throw on some sweats? You’re probably never going to see the cashier at the gas station in the middle of nowhere again, so be comfortable and forget the dress to impress motto.

Instead of lugging around heavy bottles of shampoo and other personal hygiene items, why not just fill what you need into individual straws? Just grab a funnel, pour your liquids in and use a lighter to burn both ends. This travel hack eliminates more than half the weight and can save quite a bit of space, too.

Packing an ice box with food and drinks can be one of the most convenient ways to save time and money. With just a little preparation, you can have an ice-cold beverage or snack within arm’s reach and won’t have to worry about wasting time stopping or spending money at vending machines and petrol stations.

5. Drink water instead of caffeine

Everyone on long road trips always has the urge to drink coffee or soda to either focus on driving or be more alert. However, drinking eight glasses of water a day can make you feel more energetic without the sudden crash from drinks with a lot of sugar and caffeine.

Taking some of these measures when traveling a long distance can make your trip much more enjoyable. No matter how you travel, just try to make your journey as comfortable as possible and try to eliminate the added stress that comes along with it.
