Award-winning RV manufacturer, Jayco Australia, has taken caravanning one step further and introduced the world’s first voice-activated caravan.

For the first time ever, Jayco’s signature Silverline 2019 range comes with a voice-activated virtual assistant — Amazon Alexa.

You can use your voice to control the lights, turn the air conditioning on or off, set timers or reminders, get traffic information, change the television channel or even check today’s weather forecast, among other things.

Jayco Australia CEO, Garry Moore, says this new high-tech feature opens up a whole new luxury caravanning experience for like-minded travellers.

“We rely heavily on technology when it comes to our home and work lives, and it shouldn’t be any different when it comes to your caravan,” Moore said.

According to the RV manufacturer, last year recorded the highest number of domestic caravan and camping visitors in history, growing by a massive 71 per cent from the year prior.

Meanwhile, new data from Tourism Research Australia revealed 377,000 international caravan and camping visitors came to Australia for the year ending March 2019, making a 7 per cent increase from the previous year.

What are your thoughts on this? Do you go camping or caravanning often?
