Ever dreamed of a white Christmas in Europe?

I just love enjoying a festive white Christmas in Europe. The whole experience looks and feels like a nostalgic Christmas card.

Go on… close your eyes and paint a picture of yourself standing in the festive Christmas Markets of a quaint, medieval village square decorated with twinkling lights. It is dusk and all around you there is laughter whilst you’re sipping mulled wine and sharing ginger biscuits with new found friends.

Now set this in the heart of the snow covered mountains of Switzerland, or perhaps the Austrian Alps, and then complete the scene with snow-bound sleigh rides or maybe an exhilarating train ride on the Glacier Express through the majestic Alps.

To me, the romance is everywhere. Let’s face it, what could be better than waking up on Christmas Day under a crisp, white doona in an 800 year old Coaching Inn deep in the heart of the Austrian Tyrol. What could be better than a sumptuous breakfast waiting for you downstairs, and knowing that someone else will be washing up, preparing a grand Christmas lunch and you can relax and enjoy a wonderful day. And whilst they are doing that you have your own agenda. Maybe having fun trying to build a snowman, or going for a delightful winter walk or catching a cable car up to an alpine restaurant for a steaming cup of ‘heisse schokolade mit Sahne‘ (hot chocolate with cream) and taking in the glorious snow covered mountain panorama!
