No hiding gorgeous Catherine’s happiness at first solo event in months

The Duchess of Cambridge is back in the swing of things, literally, after a period out of the limelight while she suffered with morning sickness in the first months of her pregnancy.

Catherine had her first solo appearance since her pregnancy announcement in September, and it was for an event close to her heart – the Lawn Tennis Association’s (LTA) Tennis for Kids event. The young royal is the patron of the LTA, after taking over from the Queen last year, as well as being a keen tennis player herself.

And she couldn’t have looked happier to be playing with the kids, aged five to eight, as they learned to enjoy tennis.

There was no sign of a baby bump under the Duchess’s trim sports wear. Not that they wee any old tracksuit pants – The Sun claimed the slim-fitting black-and-white trousers retailed at £220 (A$381, US$292) a pair.

Catherine reportedly told the youngsters that she was feeling a bit unfit, but there was definitely no sign she was less nimble than usual. Although women used to be encouraged to avoid exercise during their pregnancies, it’s now recommended that women who’re used to exercise continue their usual activities, as long as their doctors give them the all-clear to do so.

Her tight-fitting pregnancy wear is certainly a world away from the tent-like dresses with Peter Pan collars that Princess Diana wore during her pregnancies with Princes William and Harry, showing how much fashions have changed for pregnant women in just a short time.

The royal baby, Catherine and Prince William’s third child, is due in April.

Did you continue to exercise or go about your normal activities when you were pregnant? Or were you forced into ‘light duties’?
