While the world debates the resignation of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, the Queen’s granddaughter Zara Tindall has been enjoying some down time with husband Mike in Australia.

The royal, who has never held a royal title, is believe to have been in the country since New Year’s Eve after actress Rebel Wilson shared a photo on social media showing the couple on a balcony in Sydney with the iconic Harbour Bridge behind them.

Zara is Down Under due to her role as ambassador for the Magic Millions and the 38-year-old, who is the daughter of Princess Anne, looked sensational over the weekend as she attended the race day at Aquis Park, Gold Coast, alongside her husband of eight-years, who is a former English rugby star.

The mum-of-two looked stunning in a vibrant pink dress by Australian designer Rebecca Valance, which featured puff sleeves and a funnel neck. Zara paired the dress with a contrasting orange feathered headpiece which featured accents of pink.

She completed her look with a small pink leather shoulder bag and a pair of beige stiletto heels, while Mike looked dapper in an off-white three-piece suit which he paired with a pink and white striped shirt that perfectly complimented his wife’s ensemble.

The couple have made a series of appearances over the past week, including attending the Magic Millions Polo. Accomplished equestrian Zara also participated in the Magic Millions Barrier Draw which sees jockeys ride their thoroughbreds down the iconic Surfer’s Paradise beach.

The couple have kept tight lipped about the current situation concerning the royal family, after the Duke and Duchess of Sussex announced that they would be taking a step back from their roles as senior royals this year, with rumours circulating that they felt “pushed out”.

On Wednesday Zara’s cousin Prince Harry and his wife Meghan released a statement on their Sussex Royal Instagram account which said they would make the transition this year, carving out “a progressive new role within this institution” by balancing their time between the UK and North America while “continuing to fully support Her Majesty The Queen”.

“This geographic balance will enable us to raise our son with an appreciation for the royal tradition into which he was born, while also providing our family with the space to focus on the next chapter, including the launch of our new charitable entity,” the statement continued.

“We look forward to sharing the full details of this exciting next step in due course, as we continue to collaborate with Her Majesty The Queen, The Prince of Wales, The Duke of Cambridge and all relevant parties. Until then, please accept our deepest thanks for your continued support.”

A short statement was then released by Buckingham Palace on behalf of the royal family and said only that discussions with the couple were at an early stage.

“We understand their desire to take a different approach, but these are complicated issues that will take time to work through,” the statement said.
