A simply delicious tomato and feta baked pasta dish is the latest recipe to go viral on social media, with people across the world heading to the kitchen to try the tasty meal for themselves. And when you see the photos, you’ll understand why it’s so hard to resist.

The recipe was initially posted on video sharing app TikTok, but within days it had spread across the internet, capturing the attention of keen cooks from all corners of the globe. And the best part? It contains basic ingredients and is very quick and easy to make.

All you need is a block of feta, cherry tomatoes, garlic, chilli flakes, oregano, dried pasta, olive oil and basil or parsley for garnish. And in 30 minutes it can be on your dinner table!

One of the many Aussies to try it for themselves was television presenter Jules Sebastian (singer Guy Sebastian’s wife). Taking to Instagram earlier this month, she talked followers through the process.

“I’ve seen this recipe floating around on TikTok, so I thought I’d give it a go,” she said in a short video posted to her page. “Apparently it was so famous that the feta actually sold out in Finland.”

Jules then went on to talk through the steps, from placing the tomatoes, feta and garlic in a baking dish, to pouring over some olive oil and cooking it in the oven. Then, while it’s cooking away, you cook the pasta so it’s ready to be mixed in with the tomato mixture once cooked. (Full recipe and method below.)

“It looks delicious, smells delicious, TikTok says it’s delicious,” Jules said as she looked at the tasty dish in front of her. Then after taking a bite she said, “Omg, that is the fastest, easiest, most tasty pasta [dinners] I think I’ve ever made.”

The only problem with this recipe is that even in Australia shops seem to be selling out of feta, as everyone rushes to buy the ingredients to try it themselves. In fact, a Coles spokesperson recently told The Daily Mail that feta sales are up by almost 20 per cent, while sales of cherry tomatoes have also soared in recent weeks.

So, if your mouth is watering just thinking about this delicious meal, you had better head to the supermarket quick smart!
