She was once married to one of the greatest singers of all time and it was only natural for Priscilla Presley to be present in honouring Canadian crooner Michael Buble with his very own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

The 73-year-old former wife of Elvis Presley was on hand to witness Buble receive the 2,650th star along the iconic strip in Los Angeles. Fans will recall the 43-year-old singer actually released a duet with the “King of Rock and Roll” in 2015.

A reworked classic of the 1956 hit ‘Fever’ became a hit all around the world, with Buble at the time describing it as the highlight of his career. Meanwhile, Presley said her late ex-husband would have loved Buble’s voice and music.

For the event, which actually marked Buble’s second star after he received one earlier in his home country of Canada, Presley opted for a stunning red frock, complete with matching shoes and red lipstick. She wore her long locks in a straight style for the event and beamed with delight as she watched the moment the young musician’s star was revealed.

Meanwhile, Buble’s proud wife Luisana Lopilato watched on from the audience and turned heads in a short and sparkly dress, fishnet stockings, knee-high boots and a matching leather jacket. She wore her luscious blonde locks in curls for the event and happily posed alongside her husband next to his new star.

The ‘Haven’t Met You Yet’ star also delivered an emotional speech during the festivities, which happened to fall on the same day his new album was released.

He said the likes of Presley and record producer David Foster showing up made him feel important.

“That was no small feat today. My record being out today and having a star here on the Walk of Fame, I have personally never felt so self-important before,” he told the crowd.

He said he struggled writing his speech and said that although he was receiving the star, it wasn’t about him. Instead, he said it was about the fans who have supported him through his career.

“Today is a day for those people to have a sense of ego and to know how much it means to give selflessly like that,” he said. “And to give their experience, to give their love, to give their support.”

The ‘I Believe in You’ singer paid tribute to his mother and father and described them as “two of the greatest people in the whole universe”. He thanked them for teaching him kindness and empathy through their actions. Of course, his wife was also given a nod.

“There’s nothing I can really say to express how I feel about her and what we’ve been through,” he said, getting emotional. “She is my hero and my rock.”

Buble also mentioned his children, explaining they gave him a purpose and made days like receiving a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame even sweeter.

“The longer I live, the more I realise love isn’t free,” he concluded. “Love has a great cost. The more you love, the more you hurt. The greater chance of suffering and pain.”
