Down at the lake

A couple went to the lake for a nice weekend away. The husband decides to take a nap on the shore. His wife decides to take their fishing boat out onto the lake, and begins reading a book.

After a while, the local sheriff comes by on his boat and stops next to the wife and says, “I’m going to have to arrest you, ma’am. Fishing isn’t allowed at this lake.”

“But, officer, I’m not fishing,” she protests.

“Ma’am, you have all of the necessary equipment. I’m afraid I’m going to have to run you in.”

The woman, annoyed, says, “If you do that, officer, then I’m going to have to charge you failure to pay child support.”

“But I don’t know you and we don’t have children together,” the sheriff replies, confused.

“I know,” she says. “But you have all the necessary equipment.”
