Prince Harry and Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, have arrived in Dubbo for the second day of official duties on their royal visit to Australia, and it’s fair to say that the crowds in the small New South Wales city are giving Sydney fans a run for their money.

Shortly after touching down in Dubbo, the royal couple were greeted by an array of local residents, politicians and school children – who had the morning off from lessons to catch a glimpse of Harry and Meghan in the flesh.

While the Duke and Duchess of Sussex happily accepted flowers and gifts from children, it was an unsuspecting five-year-old who stole the show with his affectionate display towards Meghan and Harry. According to the Sydney Morning Herald, little Luke Vincent was the very last child from Buninyong Public School to meet the recently-married couple. Dressed in an adorable hat and a pair of goggles, Luke ran up to Prince Harry and immediately gave him a massive cuddle.

Harry couldn’t wipe the smile off his face as he interacted with the kindergartner, who has Down’s syndrome, while Meghan watched on in delight. Clearly fascinated with Prince Harry, little Luke then began stroking the 34-year-old’s ginger beard.

He then presented Meghan with a lovely bunch of flowers before reaching in and giving her a huge bear hug. Like her husband, the 37-year-old beamed with delight, before little Luke made his way back over to Harry for another hug and to play with his hair.

Luke’s special moment with the royals comes just one day after 98-year-old war widow Daphne Dunne met Prince Harry for a third time. Daphne originally met Harry when he was in Australia three years ago and was the talk of the town when the young royal bent down to give her a peck on the cheek.

Two years later, the pair crossed paths again when they shared a kiss and hug after she waited to meet him in the pouring rain in Sydney when Harry was in town to announce the Invictus Games were heading to Australia. On Tuesday, Daphne shared another special moment with Prince Harry and got to meet his new bride.

Later on Wednesday, Harry and Meghan are expected to meet with farmers who had been badly affected by this year’s drought. In addition to Sydney and Dubbo, Harry and Meghan will visit Melbourne, Fraser Island, Fiji, Tonga and New Zealand.
