It’s the biggest night in Australian music, promising wall to wall glamour from some of our most loved and glamorous stars — and the 2018 Aria Awards did not disappoint.
Everyone from Sylvia Jeffreys, to her co-star Richard Wilkins, Sonia Kruger and more brought their style A-game to Sydney’s Star casino on Wednesday night.
Sylvia stole the show early on in a bright yellow leopard-print dress, as she posed for snaps in front of the sea of cameras and reporters.
The Today presenter looked sensational in the wild ensemble, which included an asymmetrical hemline and frill detailing. Paired with strappy black stilettos, the 32-year-old looked picture-perfect for the event, with her blonde locks pulled back in a messy bun.
The star, who is married to fellow TV reporter Peter Stefanovic, 37, went solo for the awards show.
She was joined by her Today co-star Richard Wilkins, who couldn’t keep his hands off his beautiful girlfriend Virginia Burmeister. The couple put on a cosy display as they posed for the cameras ahead of the event.
Virginia, 50, turned heads in a backless floor-length burgundy dress, which featured a plunging neckline. She wore her hair up in a ponytail and accessorised with a jewelled necklace, which fell down her bare back.
Meanwhile, Richard looked dapper in an all-black tux for the occasion.
Elsewhere, Sonia Kruger took a night off from mum duties and stunned in a stylish tuxedo-inspired mini dress. The 53-year-old presenter added silver boots to her outfit and flashed a beaming smile to cameras.
Gorgeous dresses aside, the night didn’t come without controversy. Host Keith Urban set tongues wagging with a cheeky opening number.
“The trophies are very sharp. Very, very, very sharp,” he exclaimed. “Now, I’m not necessarily saying they’re the biggest pricks in the room, but they’re damn close.”
He went on to say: “Try and keep your speeches short. Good luck on that.
“The producers do have music and they will absolutely play your airs off if you prattle on and on.”
