About Martin Heffron

Martin is the co-founder and executive director of Heffron, an independent self-managed superannuation fund (SMSF) advisory, education and administration firm. He’s responsible for the business’s long-term strategy, policy and advocacy. Before starting Maitland-based Heffron in 1998, Martin was a superannuation consultant at Deloitte and White & Lewis Consulting. He has more than three decades’ experience in the superannuation and SMSF spaces and is the chair of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand’s SMSF committee. Martin also represented the Tax Institute at the Australian Taxation Office’s superannuation National Tax Liaison Group and Superannuation Consultative Committee forum for years. Martin’s partner in business (and life) is wife Meg Heffron, herself an actuary, recognised SMSF expert and co-founder of Heffron. Heffron also works with Six Park, home of Starts at 60’s affordable investment pro Ted Richards, to offer an end-to-end SMSF management service.
