TV host ‘on the run’ for ‘disgusting’ Ivanka Trump comment

US TV Host Jesse Watters should be having a great time. The up incoming star of the network has been promoted to the best timeslot after Fox fired it’s former star Bill O’Reilly last week over sexual harassment allegations. However, one comment has sent him running.

He has only had the top spot for a few days when he announced suddenly he was going “vacation” following the blowback from a comment he made about US President Donald Trump’s daughter Ivanka.

Watters was covering the First Daughter’s appearance at the G20 Women’s conference where she was booed for defending her father. Watters offered his opinion on the matter saying, “It’s funny, the left says they really respect women, and then when given an opportunity to respect a woman like that, they boo and hiss”.  He added, “So I don’t really get what’s going on here, but I really liked how she was speaking into that microphone.”

This comment outraged many viewers who thought that Watters was making an oral sex joke about Ivanka.  In a statement released after the program, Watters stated: “During the break we were commenting on Ivanka’s voice and how it was low and steady and resonates like a smooth jazz radio DJ”.  He added, “This was in no way a joke about anything else.”

While the network is still trying to distance its self from the sexual harassment allegations made against former host Bill O’Reilly, this isn’t a good look so Watters has taken the rest of the week off for a sudden vacation.

Acclaimed journalist John Podhoretz took to Twitter to share his disgust.

Fox News has declined to comment about the situation at this time.

What do you think? Was the comment inappropriate or taken the wrong way?
