Tom Jones puts a long running rumour to rest

Celebrity rumours seem to be splashed all over the tabloids these days quoting “sources” to justify the information.

But they’re not all they’re cracked up to be.

In recent weeks there have been rumours flying that Tom Jones and Priscilla Presley are dating – and given Jones’ past, a lot of people were buying into it.

But it appears the rumour was little more than that.

Jones has addressed the rumours, telling the Daily Star Sunday that he and Presley are just friends.

“I’ve known her for years. But it’s not true that we’re dating or in a relationship. We are just friends. But good friends,” he said.

The rumours have been swirling since the pair we’re spotted out to dinner together in January, as you know, friends tend to do together.

Last month he told The Sun that the he and Presley had been friends for “a long time”.

“She’s a lovely lady,” he said.

“We do enjoy our nights out together.”

But regardless of the rumours, which come less than a year after the death of his wife Linda, Jones doesn’t seem to mind the attention.

“As long as it’s nothing hurtful and there aren’t any lies floating about, I don’t mind,” he told the Daily Star Sunday.

“It all depends on what is being said. If it’s something derogatory then I’ve got to sort that out.”

So there you have it folks, Tom Jones and Priscilla Presley aren’t dating.
