Terror group exacts deadly revenge on Aussie baby

Islamic State is known for the bloody revenge it exacts on fighters who attempt to desert.

Islamic State militants have killed an Australian baby after its Aussie father tried to give up fighting for the terror group in the Middle East.

The Daily Telegraph reported that the baby’s father, an Australian who’d travelled to Syria and Iraq to volunteer as a fighter for the terror group, had contacted Australian authorities in the hope of deserting Islamic State and coming home.

Intelligence agencies suspect that the baby was killed to punish the man for trying to flee the fight that’s being waged by Islamic State against US, Iraqi and other forces in the region. The terror group had captured swathes of Syria and Iraq but has since been beaten back by a US-led assault.

Australian authorities declined to comment to The Daily Telegraph about the case.

The Australian government has already warned that many Australians who travelled to the region to fight for Islamic State are expected to try to come home now the terror group is on the losing end of the battle and life in its stronghold of Raqqa in Syria has become tougher. The US and its allies are currently ramping up for an assault on Raqqa.

The government is toughening laws that allow it to revoke the citizenship of fighters who have dual nationality.

It is known to have already scrapped the Australian passport of Khaled Sharrouf, the terrorist who horrified the world in 2014 by posting a picture on social media of his young son holding a severed head.

How do you think Australia should deal with terrorists who attempt to return home?
