Nick Kyrgios’ on court antics have certainly rubbed some of you up the wrong way.

A lot of Aussies, particularly older tennis fans, have had a lot to say about the young tennis star’s behaviour – and many aren’t impressed.

But now Kyrgios has done some self assessment, and he doesn’t want you to think he’s a bad person.

Speaking yesterday at a press conference, Kyrgios said he doesn’t think he’s a bad guy.

”I’ve had a couple of mix ups on the court, but that’s in the heat of the battle. That’s when you are competing, you are angry, you are emotional,” he said.

”Off the court … I have done anything against the law, I haven’t done drink drive, I haven’t shot someone, I haven’t stolen

”If you put it in perspective, I’m really not a bad person.’’

He also said that no matter what he does in his match, some people will still have bad things to say about him.

It’s probably one of the most mature interviews he’s given, and it’s prompting many to ask – is he starting to grow up?

What do you think about what he had to say? Do you think he has a point? or are you still not a fan?
