Michelle Obama pens heartwarming letter to Phil Collins’ daughter

Everyone’s favourite former First Lady is at it again, cementing herself as one of the most thoughtful and gracious people with this sweet note.

Lily Collins, Phil Collins’ actor-turned-author daughter excitedly posted this photo of a thank-you note she received from Michelle Obama, thanking her for sending a copy of her new book.

“Dear Lily”, Obama wrote.

“I am writing to thank you for the copy of your new book. The gift was such a nice gesture and I look forward to sharing it with my daughters.

“The outpouring of support I have received from women across the country continues to amaze me, and I am filled with a great sense of hope for our shared future.”

Michelle then shared a quote which she said reminded her of Collins’ book, “Here’s to strong women, may we know them, may we be them, may we raise them.”

Collins, 28, was clearly delighted by the letter, exclaiming in the caption of the photo, “I’ll definitely be framing these!” and describing the Wonder Woman stamp used by the former First Lady as “everything”.

She even posted a video of herself reading it aloud to her Instagram page!

Her book is a collection of personal essays called “Unfiltered: No Shame, No Regrets, Just Me”, in which she reveals her past struggles with eating disorders and her troubled relationship with her famous father, among other things.
