Family makes ultimate act of forgiveness for triple killer

Kenneth Williams was scheduled to be executed in Arkansas yesterday.

How forgiving would you be to the man who killed your father?

One family has shown extraordinary forgiveness for the man who killed their father / husband in a traffic accident. So much so they purchased flights for his daughter and granddaughter to visit him in prison.

Kenneth Williams was scheduled to be executed in Arkansas yesterday. He killed Michael Greenwood in a traffic crash after escaping from prison. He was serving a life sentence for killing a cheerleader but will be executed for killing another man while on the run. It was during a police chase following the murder the traffic crash occurred, killing Greenwood.

Greenwoods daughter Kayla heard Williams hadn’t seen his 21-year-old daughter for years and had never met his granddaughter, only a few days before his execution date, according to AP News. She said her mother then bought tickets for them to fly from Washington state to Arkansas to see him. “I told him we forgive him and where I stood on it,” said Greenwood, who sent the message to Williams through his attorney. “When he found out that we are bringing his daughter and granddaughter to see him and that my mom and dad bought the tickets, he was crying to the attorney.”

CNN reported on the visit to Williams in prison, the day before he was due to be executed. “He said tomorrow, no matter what happens, he will at least be more at peace now knowing that he was able to see me and my daughter, as well as everything the Greenwood family has done for him,”  daughter Jasmine Johnson said.

If you think the tickets were generous, there is more. Williams Thursday execution date was postponed after Greenwoods family requested they be able to talk to the parole board and tell them they want him spared. The court had already turned down numerous appeals from his attorneys.

Would you be so generous?
