Expert says this is how you should make your tea

Apparently putting your cup of tea in the microwave can unlock various health benefits.

When you think of making a cup of tea, chances are you think of putting the kettle on.

But it turns out that might not be the best way to make a cup of tea.

According to one food scientist, the best way to make a cup of tea is actually by using your microwave.

That’s right, Dr Quan Vuong has spent years researching how to “add value” to natural products and he has concluded that microwaving your food can add health benefits.

The ABC reports that during a 2012 study, Dr Vuong found that microwaving his tea “activated 80% of caffeine, theanine and polyphenol compounds” and “generated the best taste”.

He told the ABC that people were concerned with the health benefits of food.

“Microwaving is one of the advanced technologies to get more bioactive compounds from the products,” he said.

You might be wondering how to make your tea in the microwave?

Well Dr Vuong’s method is simple.

Firstly, put hot water in a cup with your teabag.

Then heat it in the microwave for 30 seconds and let it sit for a minute before drinking.

It’s definitely a different way of making a cuppa!

What do you think about Dr Vuong’s research? Will you be following his advice?
