After 15 years, this star is making a comeback

In exciting news for country music fans, Shania Twain is set to release a new single in June, with a new album to follow.

It’s been 15 years since Twain last released an album – 15 very long years for her fans, and the new single, Life’s About To Get Goodmarks her long-awaited return to music.

Come On Over, the 51-year-old’s 1997 album remains one of the highest selling records ever, with more than 40 million copies sold worldwide. Come On Over was a collaboration with Twain’s producer and then husband Robert John “Mutt” Lange, and stayed in the Billboard’s top 20 for a whopping 127 consecutive weeks. Her last full-length album was Up! released in 2002.

Shania’s music changed the face of the country music industry, managing to bridge the country-pop gap and bring the country genre into the mainstream.

Shania’s long hiatus from the music scene has been due in part to the very public and messy end to her marriage with Lange, the partnership that produced her hit albums.

The marriage lasted from 1993 and ended in 2008 amid scandal that Lange was having an affair with Shania’s best friend Marie-Anne Thiébaud, resulting in Shania falling into a depression.

In a remarkable twist of fate, Shania ended up marrying Thiébaud’s ex-husband, whom she’d left for Lange when they sought solace from their respective heartbreaks together.

The news of her comeback is certain to make Shania’s fans ecstatic.
