Tom Hanks is “offended as a man” at Trump’s comments 12

Tom Hanks has always portrayed himself to be an all-round nice guy. But the actor didn’t hold back when he was asked about what he thought about Donald Trump’s recent comments towards women – that the Presidential candidate has explained away as “locker room banter”.

In the video, Trump can be heard describing a failed attempt to have sex with an unnamed married woman. “I moved on her and I failed. I’ll admit it. I did try and f— her,” the real estate mogul said. During the 3-minute video, Trump can be heard continually using derogatory words towards women.

Shortly after the video’s release, Trump clarified his past comments in a statement saying: “This was locker room banter, a private conversation that took place many years ago. Bill Clinton has said far worse to me on the golf course — not even close. I apologise if anyone was offended.”

“I’m offended as a man. I’m not offended as a husband or a father, I’m offended as a guy,” Hanks said in an interview with the Press Association. “That’s just not right, I’m sorry. It’s not right at work. It’s not right in the locker room. It’s wrong. Period. The end. That’s all,” he added.

Asked whether he buys Trump’s labelling the conversation as “locker room talk,” Hanks responded, “Oh dear, oh no. He was at work, man. He wasn’t in a locker room, he was at work. He was showing up to do a thing on camera.”

The Oscar winner offered an analogy to help undecided voters chose a candidate this November: “If you have a horrible painful tooth and you need a root canal, who are you going to go see? A guy who says, ‘Oh, I think i can figure out how to do a root canal for you, lay down.’ Or are you going to see somebody who’s done 6,000 of them, has a degree on the wall and has a great history and expertise when it comes down to it.”

  1. Tom Hanks sis right. Is there a right and wrong place for this sort of talk ????? The big difference between Tom Hanks and Donald Trump is that Tom Hanks is a Gentleman, something Donald Trump has never been nor could he be.

  2. Tom Hanks is absolutely right. There is no excuse for that sort of disgusting verbal degradation to be used anywhere.

The world will be sorry if such a low life excuse for a human being as Trump is elected as president of the most powerful nation on earth.

    • I wholeheartedly agree with Tom Banks, being both a husband and father and again a grandfather and great grandfather, I would never talk about women in such a derogatory manner

    • I totally agree! It would be dangerous to put this “Poor excuse for a man” in such a powerful position, not just for America, but the rest of the world. Me personally, I think he is unhinged!!

  3. I cannot vote but if you vote Donald Trump you are the equal of voting Hitler. I am frightened of this man and if Americans are the people Australians are supposed to back up, then we are in trouble big time too. We do have a vote in your election but please used some sense, this man is trouble.

  4. I agree with Tom Hanks. Mr Trump makes me want to cringe, and to think people would want to vote for this type of World leader astounds me… Mr Hanks for President. He has my vote, always x

  5. The thing is right or wrong, Clinton has done worst things, Kennedy treated women horribly and its documented how many he went through and dropped them like hot cakes while he was married, he was also supposed to be a gentleman but I would not say that his womanizing and not caring about women’s feelings while he was married was a gentlemanly action, he had sex everywhere anytime with anyone he was remotely attracted to. Most men when they have a few drinks loose the plot and speak about women with very little regard at all. This has been going on for centuries actually.
The difference with trump is he is not a hypocrite like Hilary Clinton he is upfront and direct and fed up with the America leaders of the last 20 years who have done nothing but spend all the funds creating wars and selling arms to Saudi Arabia like its still. America is in really bad shape as far as debt, thanks to the people who have chosen to invade countries under false pretenses. Its time for an good negotiator, an assertive leader, who can negotiate well for his country and steer the country in a different direction and Hilary is not gong to do that – she has proven that in the past as well as displaying corruption, deceit and false statements. so the US has a real problem on hand because they have placed themselves between a rock and a hard place , and for Russia to say that if Hilary gets elected there will be a nuclear war – that is a pretty strong statement that we should all be afraid of, instead of the locker room comments Trump makes.

    • Wow Riita, you are defending trump? You really think it’s ok for anyone to speak about women like that? The man is a walking piece of excrement and there’s no other term for him. You really need to take a long hard look at yourself.

    • You should get a life Riita. Do uou have no redpect for women?

  6. Tom Hanks is the cause of swearing through his comments in his movies. If you banned all the movies Tom Hanks used the F word it would probably be half of them. He is no ‘rose’.
