Remember the fifth Beatle with a moving tribute video

Following the sad passing of legendary music producer George Martin this week, a moving tribute video has surfaced from The Beatles official YouTube account.

On Wednesday, Beatles’ drummer Ringo Starr confirmed that the group’s composer and producer, Sir George Martin, had died aged 90.

“God bless George Martin – peace and love to Judy and his family – love Ringo and Barbara -George will be missed xxx”, Ringo tweeted at the time.

George Martin was perhaps one of the greatest music producers in history, recognising The Beatles’ talent and potential long before record companies did.

“I could well understand that people had turned (hit single Please Please Me) down. But there was an unusual quality of sound, a certain roughness that I hadn’t encountered before”, Martin once explained about discovering The Beatles.

“Without George Martin, the Beatles would have been a very different band”, the British Broadcasting Corporation later claimed.

Ringo Starr, Rick Rubin and other music producers helped compile this official tribute video, paying their respects to an old friend.

Tony Viscoti (the late David Bowie’s producer) even said that George Martin inspired him to become a music producer. He certainly made the world a better place, thanks to The Beatles and their classic music.

Rest in peace, George Martin. Share your thoughts on this beautiful tribute video below:
