This week, Starts at 60 member Olwyne wrote to us, asking for some community advice:

Are you “single again”, have you tried the dating sites on line? What did you think of them? Did you find it extremely difficult and frustrating when you saw, “register for free”, then to find out there costs are a bit hefty?

What is the answer for members that still have so much love to offer and miss another person in their life?

If you know the answer could you please let me know.

Can you help her? What is your advice?

If you have a question you’d like to ask the Starts at 60 community– we’d love to help! Submit them to us here.

Starts at 60 Writers

The Starts at 60 writers team seek out interesting topics and write them especially for you.

  1. Yes it is safe, just NEVER EVER meet in private..always meet at a public place…and drive yourself there and home again….and DON’T get escorted to your car…………….also keep an eye on your drink :)…have fun

  2. Starts at Sixty have already published an enormous amount on this subject…it is hard to locate articles. A better index would help.

  3. Too expensive and I found they don’t take any notice of your requirements – e.g. I asked for someone within 50 klms (live in Qld) and kept getting SA matches!

  4. If you are going to do online dating make sure its not one of those freeby ones. And although its a pain find one that asks you a lot of questions about your preferences or you could end up with the biggest twit in Australia.

  5. My experience was a free dating site, and I had many cups of coffees and made some very nice friends. Eventually I met a wonderful man. But you need patience and the reward is there.
