Hollywood beauty signs modelling contract at 60!

Hollywood hotties have usually wound down a little by the age of 60, but not Kim Basinger, who this week has followed in her daughter’s footsteps and signed a modelling contract with International Modelling Agency, IMG.  This is apparently the same agency that signed her 18 year old daughter earlier in 2013.  Born born December 8, 1953, Basinger is an American actress, and singer best known for her roles in Never Say Never Again (1983), and Vicki Vale, the female lead in Batman (1989) and 9 and 1/2 weeks (1989) among many others.  She won a Golden Globe for her role in  L.A. Confidential (1997).

It is another positive sign that older women matter more to the public eye and the public purse.

Ivan Bart, the Senior VP and Managing Director of IMG Models told Variety Magazine “Kim has a powerful appeal on screen that will lend itself as a strong asset for us to seek innovative partnerships across the modeling and entertainment platform for Kim,” 

Her many years of experience in the entertainment and media industries would also be an asset, with her having been in the public eye since she finished high school.  

As a mother-daughter modelling team we wish them all the luck in the world, even if they choose not to trade on their familial beauty together.
