A Christmas poem

Dec 24, 2013

In those days now long gone

We left out food at Christmas tide,

A biscuit and a ginger beer

And a carrot with a bite.

‘cos my husband bit the end off

And our children were enthralled,

To think that at such a busy time

A reindeer had time to call.

In the midst of gift deliveries

With Santa at the reins,

They knew as children know now

That was how those presents  came.

I love to think of those days

Now a widow I am left,

But with my loving family

I never feel bereft.

So Christmas is upon us

I hope memories remind,

All of other times now in the past

And the family ties that bind.

Do you love the feeling of Family at Christmas time? How do you celebrate Christmas with your family?

Christmas
