We’re hearing amazing things about Bryan Cranston and Helen Mirren’s performances in Trumbo, with both scoring Golden Globe nominations for their work, and Cranston now in the running for an Academy Award.

This gripping drama takes us back to 1947, when the successful career of prolific screenwriter Dalton Trumbo came to a crashing to an end when he – alongside many other Hollywood figures – were blacklisted for their political beliefs.

Trumbo tells the amazing true story of his fight against the US government and studio bosses in a war over words and freedom, which entangled everyone in Hollywood from Hedda Hopper (Mirren) and John Wayne to Kirk Douglas and Otto Preminger.

With an all-star cast including Bryan Cranston, Helen Mirren, Diane Lane and John Goodman, Trumbo is a witty, spirited leap back into the Golden Age of Hollywood, and an insight into the man behind some of the era’s most beloved films.

Thanks to Entertainment One, we have ten double passes to give away. To enter the draw, simply answer the following question below: Which of this film’s actors do you love the most, and why?

Trumbo is in cinemas from February 18.

The Starts at 60 writers team seek out interesting topics and write them especially for you.

  1. Dame Helen Mirren, of course! Her acting ability has ranged from when she was 18, with James Mason in ‘Lolita’, to now.
Look at the fabulous roles she’s played both in film, & on TV!
    L O N G may she reign!

  2. Dame Helen Mirren is my fave – she’s a brilliant actress still gorgeous and a stayer in a tough game.

  3. Helen Mirren is a STAR!
But I love John Goodman – the characters he plays (as in “Argo” and “The Monuments Men” ) are diverse and memorable.
He’s a HUGE man in all senses

  4. Dame Helen Mirren – love every role she has played. Not one to be typecast.

  5. Diane Lane – she’s gorgeous! Admired her since her outstanding performance in Unfaithful.

  6. Bryan Cranston. He can reinvent himself from comedy to a believable villain to a quirky character and we go along with him forgetting previous roles

  7. Dame Helen Mirren is my favourite actress because of her wonderful impersonation of any part she plays on screen and I am sure that Trumbo will be another award winning movie.

Bryan Cranston. I admire the extraordinary range in his acting – from the bumbling Dad in Malcolm in the Middle to the cold-hearted killer in Breaking Bad. I found his descent into corruption and chaos very Shakespearean. He was brought down by his hubris and like all the great tragedies, saw all he loved stained and lost.
