Flashback: The day we got Star Wars!

Today marks the 36^th anniversary of the very first Star Wars release Star Wars IV: The New Hope.   How old were you when this move hit the box office, and did you see it when it was first released?

The worldwide pop culture phenomenon was followed by two sequels, released at three-year intervals. Sixteen years after the release of the trilogy’s final film, the first in a new prequel trilogy of films was released.

The three original films were praised by both the public and the reviewers, and all six of the films were nominated for or won Academy Awards.
