What pisses me off? Petrol prices

I don’t understand petrol pricing.

I really get angry when I drove past a petrol station today and the petrol is $1.47 litre and yet the next day it is up at $1.57. Yet, there has been no petrol delivery in the last 24 hours so how do they justify it?

You watch the news and here in QLD they give you the estimated price of petrol each day…  How do the big petrol distributors get away with this?

We then have the BIG supermarket chains giving us a discount on petrol from their SS if we buy from their supermarkets. Yet when you drive around you soon realise that their discounted petrol is what the independents are charging anyway? Oh and of course if you buy whatever they want to get rid of when you go to pay you get an even further discount!

It is becoming a joke and a very expensive one.

We have had our car converted to LPG, auto gas. This is very economical but even here there is a massive variant at the pumps and some only a few kilometres apart. For instance down on the coast LPG was 96.9 cents a litre and yet and independent SS that I use is 77.9 cents. When I asked how come their LPG was so expensive the answer, “shipping costs”. Um, excuse me if you charge from Brisbane it would be closer and easier to get to the coast than our Independent supplier? I was then told if I go to their website and apply for an LPG card it would entitle me to a further 2 cents off my gas. Why is this not advertised… Because they lose money if we know about that, thats why!

This is only going to get worse I fear, the article on electric cars that was featured on this site would be good. Only if the refill stations were powered by solar panels or the car itself had panels. Otherwise the powers houses would be spewing so much pollution to keep all the cars on the road we would have to start buying fresh air (and don’t get me started on that).

So, if any of you out there have an answer re the pricing of petrol please share as I am becoming more muddled every day about all of this… I am blonde and if someone comes up with a good explanation I will use that in my defence!
