Obamas send surprising response to stranger’s wedding invite  

Barack and Michelle Obama are just as popular as ever.

Barack and Michelle Obama may not be turning up at Liz Whitlow’s wedding, but they weren’t just going to ignore the invite she sent them back in March.

Her daughter, Brooke, was in hysterics when she found a signed response in the mail.

Brooke posted an image of the letter to social media, and all of Twitter is loving it.

“Congratulations on your wedding,” the response reads. “We hope that your marriage is blessed with love, laughter, and happiness and that your bond grows stronger with each passing year.

“This occasion marks the beginning of a lifelong partnership, and as you embark on this journey, know you have our very best for the many joys and adventures that lie ahead.”

Brooke also posted a screenshot of texts between herself and her mother, in which her mother gleefully admitted that she hadn’t bothered sending an invite to current president Donald Trump.

Other Twitter users joined in, sharing photographs of official White House messages they’d received while Barack Obama was still in office. There are special responses for births, marriages and even graduations, though not all of them are exactly alike, which lends a personal touch.  

“I sent them one of my high school graduation announcements and I got this back a month later,” one user wrote. “I love the Obama family.”

“As you reflect on the efforts that brought you to this moment and look toward all that lies ahead, know that your President is proud of you and inspired by your generation,” the letter reads.

“This gave me more inspiration than I knew I needed,” one person wrote back.
