London Bridge terror attack could have been much worse

It’s difficult to believe the atrocities which occurred in London could have been worse, but the evidence suggests that there could have been far more fatalities.

Details of the investigation into the terrorist attack carried out on London Bridge last week have so far been scarce, but police have revealed that the terrorist who carried out the attack where a van was ploughed into pedestrians on the bridge, killing eight people and injuring many more, actually had something far worse intended that night.

It turns out that attacker Khuram Butt originally tried to rent a 7.5 tonne truck, similar to the one used in the Bastille Day attack in Nice that killed 86 people and injured hundreds more last year.

The larger truck without a doubt would have resulted in greater carnage and far more deaths, but his payment was declined.

On the night of the attack, other men who were thought to have been in the back of the van, then used long knives to randomly stab passersby in the streets of Borough Market.

The attackers were shot dead by police before they could get back to the van where they had petrol bombs stored.

How do you feel knowing it could have been so much worse, if not for the tiny detail of a credit card being declined?
