Lisa Wilkinson reveals the very good reason for her Today no-show

Lisa Wilkinson has promised to be back on Today, err, today, complete with a cast.

If you noticed Lisa Wilkinson’s absence from the Today set yesterday, the morning show host had very good reason to have taken sick leave, as she revealed last night.

The 57-year-old posted a picture of herself on Instagram, wearing colourful Rice Bubbles pyjamas, an old-school crocheted blanket around her, and a cast on her wrist. She didn’t reveal the cause of her injury but said she’d be back behind the Today desk today.

“So, I didn’t quite make it in to work today, because this happened …” she wrote. “Back tomorrow, cast and all. Just need to find an outfit to go with it.”

It’s no surprise that Wilkinson would mention her outfit – they frequently get plenty of attention from fans, so much so that earlier this week she revealed the brands behind her look, which consisted of a burgundy dress with flattering pleats around the waist from Veronika Maine and gorgeous drop pearl earnings from Australia’s famous Paspaley Pearls.

She even helpfully pointed out that the dress was currently on sale at Veronika Main, which has outlets around the country.

It’s probably no surprise, then, that fans were also keen to know the provenance of the cute pyjamas in her Instagram post, which Wilkinson credited to Australian brand Peter Alexander.
