Dick Van Dyke Show star Rose Marie dies at 94

The entertainment world is in mourning today following the death of another beloved star.

Rose Marie, the actress and entertainer who is famed for appearing on The Dick Van Dyke Show has passed away at the age of 94.

Fans will recall that Rose played Sally Rogers on the hit show.

She was nominated for several Emmy Awards for her work on the program.

As well as being one of the breakout stars of The Dick Van Dyke Show, she also worked as part of the show’s writing team.

While it was her role as Sally that made her a household name, she also found fame as a child actor.

You may remember listening to Baby Rose Marie when she was just three.

Back then she had her own radio show, but also worked as a singer and radio comedienne.

Her publicist Harlan Boll broke the news of Rose’s death by sharing a message on her official Twitter page.

“It is with broken hearts that we share the terribly sad news that our beloved Rose Marie passed away this afternoon,” the message read.

Devastated fans paid their respects online.

One fan simply said: “A tremendous loss!”

Another added: “So very sorry. I was delighted to be a follower and fan, and loved that she was enjoying herself so much with the film and appearances. Much love to those she touched.”

A third message read: “May she Rest In Peace. Such a kind and gentle lady that allowed us to be a part of her life through Twitter! Thanks for the laughs Rosie!!!”

She is survived by her daughter.
