What pisses me off: unappreciative kids

Sep 29, 2013

It’s Sunday the 29th September 2013, and today I think I have something pissing me off that might strike a chord.

I would like to send a message to all the Gen Y and next-gen kids out there who think they can talk down to their parents like it is their human right.  Your parents worked their butts off for you to get you to where you are now.  It is time to have some respect for their efforts, love, and devotion to your well-being.  Many battled through recessions and divorce to school you and raise you, and while it seems irrelevant to you now, they will be there for you no doubt when times get tough…  Just because you are now slightly higher in the world and you have an education, does not mean you can lose sight of those who got you to that point and those who you’ll no doubt lean on when times get tough – and they will sometime!

Now of course there are always exceptions.  A dad that beat you up or treated you like rubbish might not be one you hold respect or fond memories for, nor a mother who put herself higher than her children or took drugs, behaved unlike a parent or similar.  Lucky for me I have great parents, plenty of love and I know it… But those who take that for granted really piss me off…

How about you?
